On the Guadalquivir-clarinet solo

Landis Maitland-Whitelaw-On the Guadalquivir
On the Guadalquivir was originally written for voice and guitar. This adaptation is for unaccompanied clarinet. It depicts a river in Spain and starts out with a pastoral section reflecting on the feeling of being beside this river and then breaks into melodic chorus/verse sections. Clarineting in G Minor

Clarineting in G Minor

clarineting in G Minor - Landis Maitland-Whitelaw

I composed Clarineting in G Minor to supplement the study of the G minor scale. This became a fun exercise in not only using the G minor scale but in developing techniques for the player. It is a fun and easy listening piece.

Another Day in Paradise

Another Day in Paradise

Another day in Paradise - Landis Maitland-Whitelaw

This piece is a contemporary-classical solo piece for the clarinet. It is the feelings I had when I was anchored off the shore in Barbuda. Sun, warm, pristine beaches, fish jumping out of the water, and sea turtles. You can get the feeling that you are gently rocking on the boat. You can hear a representation of the song here on SoundCloud.

The notation for this piece is available to purchase at $2.00 / page.
